The following pages show you each of our seven standard Series of Gas Struts with all possible end fitting for each series complete with all dimensions. You should first study each page to determine which of the series is best suited to your needs. First to consider is what force you will require and you will see that for each series there is a recommended maximum force rate, i.e. 11 series is 700n (700n is capable of lifting approximately 70 kilos). Next consider the End Fitting for both body and shaft, they do not have to be the same and are included in the price of each unit. You are now ready to launch the calculator via the link below and actually design your Gas Strut.
Your first selection from a drop-down menu is to choose the Series, then your end fitting for both body and shaft, again you have a drop-down menu to help you. Finally determine your body and shaft length.
If when choosing by shaft and body length you could get an error message when you click "Calculate" this will mean you have not allowed sufficient length in the body for the internals, seals and piston. You must decrease the shaft length or increase the body length.

Traction Springs (Dampened) TRS & TRD
Traction Springs are designed to work in the opposite direction to a 'normal' counterbalance spring.
Force increase is -50%. Length is calculated as str * 2.0 +
5.1. Max force -1200N.
TRD is with dampening and the TRS is not.
Lockables SPR & RLE
There are two sizes and that RLEs can have different force increase 35%,50% and 100%
but is does shorten the stroke length. SPRs do not have this option

RELEASE END FITTINGS
The release pin of a standard lockable gas
spring must be depressed 2.5mm to achieve 100% opening of the
flow control mechanism. This can be done using a release head of
your own design or one of the following.
